Dominican hip hop dancers to world championships in Phoenix

The Dominican Dream Team/ Junior hip hop dance troupe won second place in the “Hip Hop International Dominican Republic 2018,” held at the Jaragua Renaissance in Santo Domingo on Sunday, 13 May 2018. The win qualified the team to earn a slot in the world Hip Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona from 3-13 August 2018.

The Dominican team is backed by the Fundación Bolivar Valera and the Compañía de Danza Núcleo Extremo. A selection of 12 children, ages 7 to 12 years, with passion and talent for urban dances, were chosen and have been receiving training. The second place win shows the training is paying off.

Bolivar Valera says the Dominican team has a chance at bringing home a trophy.
The foundation has opened a Go Fund Me account to fund raise for the team to travel to Arizona. Likewise, a Banco de Reservas account is opened at www.gofundme.com/dominicandream
