Former baseball player for the New York Mets, 22-year old Victor Liriano (Vitin), was shot five times trying to stop an assault in the front porch of his home, located in the Madre Vieja part of San Cristobal. He had recently been released by the Mets, after having been signed for thousands of dollars, and was together with other family members on the porch of his parent’s house.
