Jaime David Fernández Mirabal, member of the Political Committee (CP) and former vice president of the Republic, has called for the leaders of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) to meet to tackle key issues.
He said that it is a shame that the Political Committee has not met for five months despite the serious accusations of corruption involving senior party members and the additional fact that members of the CP have presidential aspirations, including the president and general secretary of the party. He made the comments in a press release sent to Diario Libre.
He said by not meeting, the ruling party is giving signals of institutional weakness that is dangerous for the country, as the party is a symbol to guarantee economic and social stability.
