Beryl not a danger for Dominican Republic

On Sunday, 8 July, the US National Hurricane Center was already forecasting Tropical Storm Beryl would cross the Dominican Republic waters merely as a tropical depression on Monday evening. Forecasters had already maintained the storm would just bring heavy rains to the country. As of Sunday, the storm had continued to weaken. Local weather forecasters, nevertheless, are alerting to possible flooding and mudslides.

The Dominican Republic is neither in the path of the third major storm this year, Chris that is headed north after developing off South Carolina in the United States.
