Max security around Angelina Jolie

El Caribe newspaper reports that the security around Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has impeded photography during the filming of scenes for The Good Shepherd in Colonial Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo has been fitted to appear as Havana for the filming.

Meanwhile, El Caribe points out that “Brad Pitt has fallen in love with the DR.” The same source says that Matt Damon and Robert De Niro also are enamored with the Colonial City. Diario Libre reports that they have visited Bayahibe, Juan Dolio and Samana seeking to buy a vacation property in the DR.

Another The Good Shepherd actor, Matt Damon, who speaks fluent Spanish, and his Argentinean wife, Luciana Barroso, attended a dinner with President Leonel Fernandez.

Reports say that part of the film crew has moved to the Sofitel Nicolas de Ovando, to get away from all the paparazzi in pursuit of catching shots of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are staying at the Santo Domingo Hilton.

Diario Libre indicates that the filming will continue at the Mercado Modelo, the arts and craft market. Thereafter scenes will be filmed by the Soco River, near La Romana. On Saturday, filming will take place at the Presidential Palace, back in Santo Domingo.

Yesterday, Culture Minister Jose Rafael Lantigua visited the set.

El Caribe reports that Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara are leaving for Haiti tomorrow, to support activities carried out by Haitian singer/songwriter Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation. See http://www.wfp.org/english/?ModuleID=137&Key=1922
