The Tax Agency (DGII) reports that tax collections from January to June 2018 amounted to RD$223.4 billion, a 10.8% increase over the same period of the previous year. DGII director Magin Díaz said the tax receipts for this period translated to a compliance of 99.9% in comparison to the estimates. He proudly said that actions implemented since the start of his management have been paying off.
Diaz added that “last year for the first time in nine years, and for the first time without a tax reform, Internal Tax exceeded its budgetary goal and this year we are on track to far exceed the budget target.”
He spoke during a mass on occasion of the 21st anniversary of the DGII.
