During a public function at 11am this morning, President Leonel Fernandez inaugurated the Diabetes Hospital in San Juan de la Maguana. Diario Libre reports that the community is pleased with the opening of the health center because it means patients no longer have to travel long distances to receive treatment. The President will go on to attend the opening ceremony of the III Caonabo San Juan 2006 Games, which are taking place in the Hermanos Suarez Stadium. The games have being organized by Fundacion Felix Bautista. Bautista is the supervisor of public works of the Presidency.
