National Police spokesman, Colonel Frank Duran announced the arrest of the man suspected of assaulting the daughter of businessman Freddy Espinal, owner of Transporte Espinal in Santiago.
Maria Altagracia Espinal Vargas was severely injured in the attack on 27 July 2018 and is still in hospital in the United States. As reported, she has lost vision in one eye.
The suspect is 33-year old Anyery Manuel Valdez Torres, also known as Jonathan, who had been contracted to paint her apartment prior to committing the crime.
