Members of the Specialized Corps for Border Ground Security (CESFRONT) have confiscated 5,082 pounds of garlic in the municipality of Pepillo Salcedo, Montecristi province in the northwest. The cargo, which consisted of 233 22-pound sacks, had entered illegally from Haiti was found in a house under construction next to the Masacre River.
The garlic was being kept by unknown individuals who fled when they saw the patrol. The men are sought by the authorities to be brought to justice.
