
The National Statistics Office (ONE) has announced it will be spending around RD$3 billion on the 2020 National Census. ONE director Alexandra Izquierdo says the preparations for the census began in 2017. Mapmakers have already visited seven provinces to validate locations for the estimated 3,400,000 households that will be surveyed. She explained the national people count every decade is a requirement of the United Nations.
