AMET will not retain driver’s licenses

AMET officers have been given instructions to stop retaining driver’s licenses for traffic violations as of last Friday, announced director general, Major General Jose Sigfredo Rodriguez Fadul. He announced that the traffic violation system has been automated. As of Friday, motorists who are stopped for traffic violations will have to pay their fine to get a renewal on a passport, car license plate, driver’s license, etc., as the fine will remain in the system. Drivers will have 10 days to pay their fines. The officers will just need the person’s name, their ‘cedula’ (ID) and license number, and the type of infraction.
