Former US President George Bush Sr. arrived in Casa de Campo, La Romana, yesterday. This is his fifth visit to the Dominican Republic in the last few years. According to Listin Diario, he arrived on a private flight amidst a discreet but effective security operation, and went straight to a private villa where he is expected to spend several days. He is accompanied by a small group of people, some of whom have been in the country for several days. Bush Sr. is the guest of Venezuelan tycoon Gustavo Cisneros, at whose private villa “Quinta Serenisima” he will be staying. Sources said that the former President would be meeting with President Fernandez today. Despite his presence, activities and events in the hotel area continued as normal for guests and villa owners, some of whom were not even aware that the VIP guest was there.
