
Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo continues to receive new flights, improving the positioning of the capital city airport as a leading regional airport. The airport is second in air travel in the country, after Punta Cana International (PUJ).
Aerodom-Vinci, the airport management company, reports on the new direct scheduled frequencies in 2018 arriving to Las Americas International Airport. Among these in 2018:
Fly All Ways from Curacao began two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Sunday to Las Americas International.
Winair and InterCaribbean are flying daily to St. Marteen.
Turpial began direct flights to Valencia, Venezuela, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.
JetBlue opened its Santo Domingo-Newark (USA) daily flight.
Spirit began daily direct service to Orlando, Florida and Newark.
A weekly Friday flight to Santo Domingo on Blue Panorama is scheduled to begin this December 2018.
Aerodom-Vinci reports that it is investing upwards of US$30 million in the Las Americas International Airport to improve the passenger experience, including optimizing its baggage handling system and major improvements in the airport access and parking system.
