18 lost at sea

Two bodies have been found while 18 people are presumed lost at sea near Barahona after the shipwreck of a boat they were using to try to get to Puerto Rico last Sunday, as reported by Listin Diario. One of the bodies was identified as Beato Vasquez, 32, from San Pedro de Macoris. The other is an unidentified woman approximately 30 years of age. Both had bites on their bodies and their faces were partly deformed. They were taken to the Forensic Pathology Institute in Santo Domingo in advanced state of decomposition. Among the travelers were reportedly persons from La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Azua, Santo Domingo and Barahona.
