
Scottish actor Gerard Butler has been hospitalized in Santo Domingo for treatment of diverticulitis. After on a humanitarian mission with Marys Meals in Haiti, the 49-year old actor Gerard Butler was hospitalized at the Centro de Diagnóstico Medicina Avanzada y Telemedicina (Cedimat) in Santo Domingo. He was diagnosed with diverticulitis, according to gastroenterologist Fernando Contreras, who said Butler’s condition was stable.
Diverticulitis is a condition where bulges in the large intestine become inflamed and sometimes infected, causing intense pain and digestive discomfort.
Butler is best known for his role as King Leonidas of Sparta in 300 and Geostorm. Since appearing in the film, he has also starred in several romantic comedies, including P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank and The Ugly Truth with Katherine Heigl, among others.
