Playing in Valdivia, Chile, the Dominican Republic defeated Chile 74-65 to keep hopes alive at making the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019. So far, 10 teams have secured their tickets for China 2019. In the Americas region, Canada, Venezuela, Argentina and the United States have secured spots.
The Dominican basketball team next will play Venezuela on 21 February and Brazil, on 24 February at the Palacio de los Deportes in Santo Domingo. The DR has a record of 6 wins and four losses in Group F, and is the best 4th place team.
