
The Center for Emergency Operations said 17 persons died over the Christmas holidays (24, 25 December 2018) in traffic accidents, of which in 16 of these a motorcyclist was involved. This is similar to the 15 deaths reported in 2017. The Center for Emergency Operations coordinated a major national effort for road safety over the holidays. With the participation of 39,233 people including volunteers, paramedics, medics, military and rescue specialists that worked from Sunday, 23 December through Christmas Day.
