Police colonel shot to death by suspected drug vendor

Police colonel Daniel Ramos Alvarez, who was in charge of the preventive police actions in southern Baní, died of gunshot wound on 8 January 2019 when heading a police intervention of a drug point in Baní. In the case, Rafael Antonio Diaz (Buche) turned himself in as the lead suspect in the case, the Police reported.

According to the director of the South Central Region of the Police, General Juan Geronimo Brown Perez, the deceased officer was attacked by “Buche” when intervening a drug sales point operated by Buche in Santa Cruz, Baní. The Police say that Buche is a well-known drug vendor.
