Security company shut down

The army and other official security organizations have shut down “Guardianes Veganos, S.A.”, a private watchman company that was allegedly operating irregularly in four provinces in the north of the country, according to a report in Diario Libre. The operation took place simultaneously in La Vega, Duarte, Espaillat and Maria Trinidad Sanchez provinces. Close to 100 rifles, ammunition and other items were seized. Army Major Tony Mendez reported that most of the firearms licenses had expired.
