The national weather service, Onamet has confirmed temperatures dropped below zero Celsius in the Valle Nuevo mountain zones in the Central Mountain Range. Onamet reported temperatures 8ºC in Constanza, 15ºC in San Jose de Ocoa and Moncion.
Noontime temperatures of 28ºC to 30ºC are forecast for the capital city, while early morning temperatures are expected to drop to 19ºC and 21ºC. The same is forecast for most of the country, with the exception mainly being the mountain areas such as Constanza, San Jose de Ocoa and Monción.
Chilly mornings of around 20ºC -21ºC are forecast for most of the country. Rains are scarce, with only some forecasts of light rains for San Pedro de Macorís, Duarte, Samaná and Monseñor Nouel (Bonao) given the passing of a weak trough.
