
President Danilo Medina received the letters of credence for the ambassadors of Argentina, Colombia, France, Kuwait and South Africa on Friday, 18 January 2019 at the Presidential Palace. Also present was Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas Maldonado.
The new ambassadors are:
Argentina. Nora Elizabeth Capello, for this lawyer, it is her first ambassadorial position.
Colombia. Nohora Stella Tovar Rey, former senator and academic sector businesswoman.
Cuba. Milagros Karina Soto Agüero, former Cuban ambassador in Italy.
South Africa. Phaninga Pandit is a career diplomat who has served as ambassador in Venezuela, Colombia, among other countries. She has served as general manager for South African Broadcasting Corporation.
France: Didier Lopinot. A lawyer and career diplomat, Lopinot has been the French ambassador to Slovakia and Ecuador.
