The Central Electoral Board (JCE) judges met on 19 February 2019 with representatives from five political parties that have announced they would hold their primaries on 6 October 2019. The meeting was to review the budgets for the process.
JCE president Julio César Castaños Guzmán met with representatives of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Revolutionary Modern Party (PRM), Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Country Alliance Party (AlPaís) and Democratic Option (OP).
The JCE also announced it has received a total of 31 requests for recognition of which seven were from formal parties and 24 from political movements.
