Team Venezuela says they have no plans to give Team DR a break when playing the last qualifying round at the Palacio de los Deportes of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo on Thursday, 21 February 2019 starting at 8:30pm. For Team DR, the game is seen as its last chance to win a slot in the FIBA World Basketball Cup.
Coach Melvyn Lopez hopes that the backing of Dominican fans can make the difference. Ace team player Eloy Vargas said the team can not trust that Venezuela will not be at their best because the game doesn’t matter for them. Venezuela has already qualified for the FIBA tournament.
The DR later plays the much superior Team Brazil on 25 February at 8:30pm at the same venue.
Tickets to the game cost RD$450, RD$350 and RD$200.
