Dominican biographical-fiction film “Veneno” wins four awards in NYCIFF

Tabare Blanchard and producer and script writer Ricardo Bardelino won the Best Film, Best Director, Best Lead Artist, and Best Secondary Artist at the New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF). The biographical film, “Primera Caída, El Relámpago de Jack” about a Dominican wrestler had received seven nominations. Tabare Blanchard won the award as best director and best film; Manny Perez was best actor and Pepe Sierra, best secondary artist.

The New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF) is an annual event produced by the NYCIFF Foundation for the Arts & Films, featuring top films from celebrated filmmakers as well as up-coming new talent from around the world.
