Fox Sports is filming the documentary “En la Sangre” inspired by baseball players Vladimir Guerrero and Fernando Tatis, the two sons of legendary Dominican MLB baseball players. The documentary is produced by Joshua Shelov, the Emmy-award-winning writer, director, and producer, and looks into telling the father-son stories of the two players. An eight-person Fox Sports team spent a week in the Dominican Republic interviewing the Guerrero and Tatis families.
They traveled to Don Gregorio, the small community where Vladimir Guerrero senior still lives. In the case of 20-year old shortstop Fernando Tatis, Jr., who on 26 March 2019 announced that he had signed with the San Diego Padres, the Fox team interviewed Fernando Tatis about his son, as well as his other son, who is the manager of the Estrellas Orientales. In the family, there is also a 12-year old who also aspires to make it to MLB.
