The results of the latest Penn, Schoen & Berland polls show that current mayor Roberto Salcedo is a clear favorite to win re-election in Santo Domingo, by a 58-41 margin. In the mayor’s race in Santiago, current mayor Jose Enrique Sued leads his nearest opponent by a 65% – 29% margin. In Santo Domingo, women voters apparently prefer Salcedo more than the men, by a margin of 61% to 41%, and Pacheco is more a favorite for male rather than female voters, by a narrower margin of 44% to 39% In Santiago, where two out of every three voters say they intend to vote for Jose Enrique Sued, women favor the incumbent more than men, but by a 69% to 62% margin.
