The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms for ten provinces. They are due to a weather front passing through the northwest, north, northeast, southeast, central mountain areas. Border provinces are also under a green alert for possible overflowing of rivers and streams and flooding. The provinces are Duarte, Samaná, La Vega, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Espaillat (Moca), Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez and Monte Plata.
