In an operation between agents of the Specialized Corps of Frontier security (Cesfront) and the Public Prosecution Service, a fake consulate has been closed down in the border city of Dajabón. The consulate was based in Hoyo de Lima and during the operation, several Haitians were arrested and others are being sought.
During the operation, the authorities seized fake passports, equipment to issue passports and visas that were being sold to Haitians for illegal entry into the Dominican Republic.
