Attorney General says will reveal more details on 19 June about David Ortiz’s shooting

Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez has announced that the judiciary will provide all of the information on the shooting of David Ortiz, on Wednesday 19 June 2019. He was speaking following a visit to President Danilo Medina at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, 18 June. He was accompanied by the director of the National Police, Ney Aldrin Bautista.

Rodríguez announced that they will be giving new details about the case, and would call a press conference for Wednesday.

Ortiz was shot on the night of Sunday 9 June at the Dial Bar & Lounge in the Av. Venezuela bar and dance area of eastern Santo Domingo.

So far, the authorities have arrested 12 persons. These are Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota (Miguelito) who the case file indicated would have been the person who paid for the murder, and Rolfi Ferreira Cruz, who is said to have fired the shot that injured David Ortiz.

Others arrested are Franklin Junior Merán (Rubirosa); José Eduardo Ciprián Lebrón; Carlos Rafael Alvarez, Lanny Estefanny Pérez Reyes, Joel Rodríguez de la Cruz (Calamardo), Porfirio Ayendi Dechamps Vásquez (Nene), Reynaldo Rodríguez Valenzuela, Oliver Mosés Mirabal, Eddy Vladimir Féliz García (El Nata) and Gabriel Alexander Pérez Vizcaino (Hueso).

The authorities are on the lookout for Luis Alfredo Clase (El Cirujano), Marcos Diaz and Maria Fernanda Villasmil Manzanilla.
