
Five-time NBA All Star center Al Horford is leaving the Boston Celtics. He has agreed to a four-year US$109 million with the Philadelphia 76ers. 33-year old Horford had spent the first nine years of his career with the Atlanta Hawks before signing with the Celtics in 2016.
Sports Illustrated focuses on whether the Dominican-born player will make Philly the Eastern Conference favorite.
The contract includes US$97 million in guaranteed money and US$12 million in bonuses tied to championships.
Horford has also played on the Dominican national basketball team. He is married to former Dominican Miss Universe Amelia Vega.
