Dominicana Moda in the Colonial City

Dominicana Moda is taking place in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. The event is organized by the National District City Government (ADN) with the backing of the Ministry of Culture. It is taking place in the Fortaleza Ozama on Calle Las Damas in the Colonial City.

A runway show with 35 designs by Giannina Azar (Studio 54) opened the 14th Dominicana Moda show on Tuesday, 22 October 2019. Other designers presenting fashion shows are Arcadio Díaz, Jenny Polanco, Rafael Rivero, Michelle Reynoso, Miguel Genao, Carlos de Moya (Caña Brava), “The Wild Ones” by Carolina López, Leonel Lirio with “Adagios,”, 30 dresses created in honor of Dominican painter Ada Balcácer.

Also the brands Camila Casual, Cayena, Arnaldo Womenswear, Louardos and Achadom. Other designers participating are Fancys Sinner by Laura Peña, Ramón Julio, Stephany Pérez, Facelles, Natasha Morales, Sinead Facelli y Mannelik Ortega, from San Juan Moda, Sonia Rivera and José Raúl, and the brand Leonardos Fifth Avenue.

Dominicana Moda this year features the children runway shows. Also Toribio Brand from MB Fashion Week, from Costa Rica and Charleston Brown from Jamaica are participating this year.
