Police says it has solved the murder of teacher in Cabarete

The Police announced the arrest of six of the seven that are suspect of participating in the murder and robbery of 63-year old Patricia Ann Anton in Cabarete on 11 November 2019. She was strangled to death her apartment. The criminals stole her cellphone, a laptop computer, a 40-inch television and approximately US$80 in cash.

Arrested in the case are Michael Mariñez Rosario (a) Chayan; Heuri Flores Hernández (a) Yikiu or Yito; Junior Alexis Suarez (a) Liquide; Juan José Andújar Mella (a) Jeffrey; Oroniel Canario Montero; Alexis Maquey and/or Alexis Makenley (a) Luisito, Gasoil, Azulito.

According to the Police investigations, the men had traveled from Santo Domingo to the city of Puerto Plata in the company of the fugitive nicknamed “Eiden and/or El Venezolano”, to commit criminal acts in that city.

The Police says that four of the men under arrest have police records dating back to 2007. These are Juan José Andújar Mella (a) Jeffrey, Michael Mariñez Rosario (a) Chayan, and the Haitian nationals Alexis Maquey and/or Alexis Makenley (a) Luisito and Junior Alexis Suarez (a) Liquide.

The Police said the men fled in a Hyundai Sonata car, driven by the fugitive Venezuelan, and the vehicle was abandoned in a cabaña in Santiago. As reported, the Venezuelan took the stolen television, computer and two tablets, and Jeffry kept the cellphone of the deceased.
