According to the Tax Agency (DGII), only 38.1% of vehicles in the country has purchased the driver permit for 2020. Marcos Cadet, spokesman for the DGII says that 1,374,321 vehicle stickers have been bought since 16 September. The window for renewing the stickers closes on 16 December. The online option is available until 9 December.
After 16 December, a fine of RD$2,000 applies to the regular charges for the vehicular permit. The sticker cost is RD$1,500 for vehicles over five years and RD$3,000 for those under five years.
