
The National Police launched the Peaceful Christmas Operation 2019-2020 to enhance safety during the Christmas holidays. The operation seeks to protect lives, physical integrity and security of Dominicans and foreigners in the country over the holidays.
Major General Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte, director of the National Police, announced patrols with 23,458 agents nationwide. The operation falls under the 14 regional offices of the Police.
The Traffic Police (Digesett), the Police Central Investigation and Anti-Drug Department (Dicrim), as well as 2,892 members of the Armed Forces, and agents of the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) are part of the operation.
