Famous 49-year old singer Mariah Carey flew south to Punta Cana to spend her New Year’s holiday on the beach. “Happy New Year”, wrote the American artist in her Instagram along with an image of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana, in which she mentions she accepted an invitation by the government of the Dominican Republic. Her visit comes as part of a campaign of the Ministry of Tourism and local hoteliers to boost the reputation of Punta Cana after a smear campaign in the US media caused a decline in bookings.
