Incort: 76 kidney and 354 corneal transplants in 2019

The National Institute for Donations and Transplants of Organs (INCORT) registered 76 kidney transplants, 37 from living donors and 39 from cadaveric donors in 2019. Last year for the first time in the Dominican Republic there were more kidney transplants from deceased donors than from living donors.

Likewise, there were also 354 corneal transplants, registering an increase in native corneal transplants compared to previous years, and five liver transplants.

Dr. Fernando Morales Billini, director of Incort, reports that donations to the Incort were up two and a half times compared to 2018.
