The Toros del Este is the first team to make the playoffs of the Dominican Winter Professional Baseball Championship. The Toros have won 11 games and only lost four games as of Sunday, 12 January 2020.
The Toros made the cut during the game in which they defeated the Tigres del Licey to the delight of their fans at the Francisco Micheli ball park in La Romana. The Toros are the favorites to win the pennant this year.
The Aguilas Cibaeñas and Tigres del Licey need to battle it out to decide who will be the Toros’ contender. Both teams have won seven games and lost eight games. Three days of games remain, 13, 14, and 15 January.
