
Fernando Rodríguez de Mondesert’s blog on jazz in the Dominican Republic was recognized with the Ukiyoto Publishing’s The Global Blog Awards 2019.
Rodriguez explains that Jazz en Dominicana (jazzendominicana.blogspot.com) was born as a blog to promote local talent in the genre of jazz. promoting our talents in the genre of Jazz. He says he is fired up to shout to the four winds that the jazz played in the Dominican Republic has nothing to envy to that of any other part of the world. The blog has published more than 1,700 articles, concert and festival reviews, interviews, biographies and photographs.
In addition to the blog, Rodríguez has created several jazz spaces over the past 13 years to give a stage to Dominican musicians and guest performers.
Ukiyoto Global Blog Awards is aimed at identifying and recognizing excellent blogs and their authors who can create an impact on the readers’ minds. The blogs are judged for content, creativity, uniqueness, originality and focus. The winner receives a US$500 award. Other winners receive a UGBA badge to put on their blog, the conversion of the best blogs into an illustrated book with complete guidance, designing, listing and distribution on behalf of the publishing company. The top six winners also get backlinks on the Ukiyoto Official Blog to the author’s own page.
