
The Police arrested two men and are on the trail of another accused of the robbery of Major Leagues pitcher Miguel Castro in La Romana. The ball player was robbed on Tuesday, 7 January, when he was arriving to the baseball field in Pica Piedra where he would help train baseball players.
The arrested were identified as Willy Medina Castillo (Willy Po and/or Bichote), who has 18 robbery cases in his track record, and Loven Tussaint (Pollo), who has been accused of robbery on three previous occasions. The Police also suspect Julio Angel de la Rosa Manuel (Bobo).
According to the Police, Willy was the person who located the victim. Pollo drove the motorcycle, and Bobo welded the firearm used to assault Castro. They stole a gold chain Castro wore. This and other jewelry were recovered in a Higuey pawnshop and returned to the baseball player.
