In a final inning played on Saturday, 18 January 2020, the Tigres del Licey defeated the Aguilas Cibaeñas. The Licey had the homeclub advantage. The Licey and Aguilas played to untie the 5-5 game that had been cancelled in the 13th inning on Friday.
The Licey will now play the Toros in the playoffs that begin on Monday, 20 January at the Francisco Micheli Ball Park in La Romana at 7:30pm. This is the second time the Tigres play the Toros. In 1984-1985 championship, the Tigres defeated the Toros del Este.
