The Ministry of Economy, the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Tourism, and the French Development Agency (AFD) are undertaking a study on “Vulnerability to Climate Change of the Coastal Areas of the Dominican Republic.”
The objective of the study is to assess the vulnerability and potential impacts of climate change on coastal systems, prioritize areas and formulate measures for adaptation to climate change in these areas to support the state’s strategy and investments for the tourism sector in the coming years.
The one-year project is implemented by the DAI Brussels SPRL agency, with the Plenitud Foundation as a local partner. The expected outcome is an Adaptation Action Plan for the coastal areas and the tourism sector.
