2020 National Literature Prize goes to writer León David

For all the merits of his prolific career as a poet, playwright, essayist and critic, with more than thirty published works, the writer León David was declared the winner of the 2020 National Literature Prize. The 10-member jury of the Corripio Foundation and the Ministry of Culture voted unanimously for León David.

León David is the pen name for Juan José Jimenes Sabater, who has had a fruitful career of 30 years. He will receive the award in a ceremony on 25 February. The award includes RD$2 million in cash.
