The world press has carried the story of the suspension of the municipal elections in the Dominican Republic. The news stories report the cause as an electronic glitch. In a meeting with the political delegates of the participating political parties, the president of the Central Electoral Board, Julio Castaños Guzmán had attributed the collapse of the system to the failure of timely checks by JCE technicians that lead to the ballot to not complete load in the automated voting system.
