
Santiago Muñoz Machado, director of the Real Academia Española began a visit to the Dominican Republic on Saturday, 29 February 2020. Muñoz Machado is also president of the Association of Spanish Language Academies (Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española – ASALE). His visit here is part of a Central American and Caribbean tour of Spanish language academies in the Americas that has taken him to Cuba, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
He is here to meet with members of the Dominican Academy of Language (Academia Dominicana de la Lengua). On his agenda is the presentation of the “Pan-Hispanic Dictionary of Legal Spanish,” at the headquarters of the Dominican Academy of the Language, Calle Mercedes 204, on Sunday, March 1st. The “Diccionario panhispánico del español jurídico” will be presented by academician and lawyer Fabio Guzmán Ariza.
During a meeting at the Dominican Academy of Language, Muñoz will be incorporated as a corresponding member in an event presided by academy president, Bruno Rosario Candelier.
