Police warn of new tactics by home invaders

The National Police has issued a warning regarding a new robbery tactic that apparently has been imported by South American criminals. The Police report several persons have been victims of armed robbery at home. This has occurred after the door is opened to a well-dressed single person, only for the victims to find themselves victims of robbery at gunpoint. After the first person gains entry, he signals his companions to come. The residents of the home are then gagged, and the house is ransacked for anything of value.

The police says they are on the lookout for Eduardo Rodríguez Pirez and his mother Rosaida Pirez. Recently in Buenavista neighborhood in La Romana, the Police arrested 22-year old Dominican Angel Núñez Herrera, who operated with the foreigners.

The police advises against opening doors to unknown persons.
