The protests at the Plaza de la Bandera were suspended on Friday, 28 February 2020 after an unprecedented 11 consecutive days of demonstrations in front of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) after the suspension of the municipal elections. Eduardo Sánchez Tolentino, representative of the group Somos Pueblo, one of the key organizers of the protests, said that it is not that protests have stopped. He says citizens continue to protest banging pots from 8 to 8:10 pm every evening.
