Pamela Sued and Luis Roberto Torres (Chachón) are the queen and king of the Santo Domingo Carnival. This is one of the most important cultural events held in the city. For the parade held on the Malecón in Santo Domingo, thousands come to represent their own carnival groups from all around the country. The event is scheduled to start at around 3 pm on Sunday, 8 March 2020. The carnival is sponsored by the ministries of Culture and Tourism.
