Coronavirus on Braemar cruise ship

The cruise ship the Dominican authorities had impeded dropping passengers off in the Dominican Republic last week, the Fred Olsen Cruise line’s Braemar was reported to be off Bahamas shores, looking for a port to dock. Reportedly on board are 682 passengers and 381 crew and at least five confirmed coronavirus cases. The ship was refused entry at several Caribbean ports and the Bahamas.

As reported, 20 passengers and around 20 crewmembers are in isolation. The media reported that the ship is waiting for clearance from the Bahamas government to load supplies and physicians to assist those sick on board.

The Dominican government has banned arrival of cruise ships as of Monday, 16 March 2020.
