American Airlines, Continental, Apa International and TWA flights to New York and New Jersey from the airports of Las Americas in Santo Domingo and Gregorio Luperón in Puerto Plata were re-scheduled for Tuesday, 9 January after two days of suspensions due to the worst snowstorm registered in decades that covered the Northeast Coast of the United States paralyzing several airports in the area. The snowstorm on Sunday and Monday was the third worse registered in New York with 52.3 centimeters of snow in Manhattan and 69.8 centimeters on Staten Island. The weather forecasters say there is more snow coming.
