On Monday 20 May, President Joaquin Balaguer formally authorized several airlines to fly to the Dominican Republic. Among these is Cubana de Aviación which has been operating in the country for the past three years. Cubana flies weekly to both Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata Airport in Puerto Plata.
Other airlines authorized are Express Parcel Service International (based in the British Virgin Islands), Trans Express Service Limited (based in the Turks & Caicos) and Riusa II (based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain).
